Error E-49 displayed on the Seiko QR-395

If your Seiko QR-395 displays error E-49, it means you are unable to alter the current programming location.

Error E-49 will usually occur if you attempt to change a programming option, commonly the pay period or print format, with card entry information stored in the QR-395's memory.

Error E-49 will also occur if you attempt to perform a card transfer to an existing card number - one that is already in use.


To correct the problem:

1. Ensure you perform an all cards reset on the Seiko QR-395 before attempting to alter the programming.
2. Ensure you are transfering a card to an unused card number when performing a card transfer on the Seiko QR-395.
