How to replace the ribbon cartridge on the Seiko QR-350

When the printing from your Seiko QR-350 becomes faint, the ribbon cartridge will need replacing.  It must be replaced with Seiko part number QR-35051N.

To replace the ribbon cartridge on your Seiko QR-350 time clock, follow the procedure below.

1. With the power applied to the Seiko QR-350, unlock and remove the top cover.  The ribbon cartridge will move to the right hand side.






2. Grasp the ribbon cartridge by its tab and pull the ribbon up and out of the Seiko QR-350.




3. Turn the knob of the new ribbon cartridge in the same direction as the arrow to tighten the ribbon.




4. Place the ribbon cartridge inside the Seiko QR-350 as shown in the figure.  Keep on pushing in the ribbon cartridge until the clasps on both sides catch and you hear a "click" sound.
   
   If you're having difficultly inserting the ribbon cartridge, try the above whilst turning the knob.




5. Ensure you install the ribbon cartridge so that the ribbon is between the print head and the ribbon mask (see the figure on the left).
   
   Printing will be poor if the ribbon is incorrectly placed behind the ribbon mask (see the figure on the right).




6. Turn the knob of the ribbon cartridge in the direction of the arrow to tighten the ribbon.




7. Replace and lock the top cover.
