How to set the print language on the Seiko TP-5

This setting only applies if the print format includes the day of the week, month or a comment.

The print language can be selected from one of the following four styles.

Option Description Example
1 English WE, 28 DEC '05
OUT 31 AM10:00
2 French ME, 28 DEC '05
SORT 31 AM10:00
3 Spanish MI, 28 DIC '05
SAL 31 AM10:00
4 Portuguese QA, 28 DEZ '05
SAIDA 31 AM10:00


If you need to set or alter the print language on your Seiko TP-5 time clock, follow the procedure below.


  1. If you haven't already done so, with power applied to the Seiko TP-5, unlock and remove the top cover.

  3. Press the SELECT button as required to position the "" mark next to the LANGAUGE option.

    If the display shows "9999" when entering program mode, you are required to enter the four digit password to proceed.

  5. The print language option value will be flashing.  If necessary, press the CHANGE button to alter the option value.

    Press the SET button to complete the procedure.


  6. Seiko TP-5 Time Clock (change print language - complete)

  7. If you don't need to alter any further settings, press SET one more time to ensure you have exited program mode.

  8. If you don't press the SET button to complete programming, the TP-5 will remain in program mode and will not accept time cards or documents.


  9. Replace and lock the top cover.
