Error E-15 displayed on the Seiko Z120

If your Seiko Z120 displays error E-15, it means the time card has not been pulled in correctly.

There are sensors within the Seiko Z120 that determine the location of the time card once it is pulled into the time card slot.  Error E-15 is returned when these sensors report an anomaly or conflicting information.

To correct the problem:

  1. Verify there is no debris or foreign material in the time card slot.  This may block one or more of the sensors.
  2. Verify that the ribbon cartridge is seated correctly.  Remove and reinsert the ribbon cartridge, if necessary.

If the problem persists, the Z120 must be repaired or replaced.
