How to set the display hours on the Seiko Z120

This setting only changes how the hours are presented on the LCD display.

The Seiko Z120 can display the hours in either 12 hour format (AM/PM) or 24 hour format (00:00 to 23:59) and can be selected from one of the following two styles.

Option Description Example
1 AM/PM PM 1:30
2 24 Hour 15:30


If you need to set or alter the display hours on your Seiko Z120 time clock, follow the procedure below.


If you are already in program mode and are continuing from a previous date/time option, you can jump ahead to step 5.

  1. With the power applied to the Seiko Z120, unlock and remove the cover.

  2. Seiko Z120 Time Clock (unlock and remove cover)

  3. Press the SETTING button once.  This will enter program mode.

  4. Seiko Z120 Time Clock (press SETTING button)

  5. Once in program mode, the display will show " ".

  6. Seiko Z120 Time Clock (change display hours - step 3)

  7. Press and hold the DATE/TIME button for 1-2 seconds.  This will enter the first date/time option.

    If the display shows "9999" when entering date/time program mode, you are required to enter the four digit password to proceed.

  9. Press the DATE/TIME button as required to position the "" mark under the DISPLAY HOURS option.

  11. The display hours option value will be flashing.  If necessary, press the or buttons to alter the option value.

    Press the SET button to complete the procedure.


  12. Seiko Z120 Time Clock (change display hours - step 7)

  13. If you don't need to alter any further settings, press the SETTING button once.  This will exit program mode.

  14. If you don't press the SETTING button to complete programming, the Z120 will remain in program mode and will not accept time cards.

  15. Replace and lock the cover.
